Round 11 Draw

Three Toowoomba volleyball players travelled to the Gold Coast last weekend to compete in the round two of the QLD Beach Volleyball Tour.

Terry Moore and Mathew Norman (on Beach Volleyball Deput) played as a pair for the first time in the AA Division tournament. After losing their first game to junior QAS pair Willmott/Menzies, they continued to go undefeated for the next 5 matches, advancing to the final. They again met Willmott/Menzies in the final, this time with Moore/Norman winning in a very close match 2-1.

Both Terry and Mathew will be looking at continuing their winning form as they again pair up to compete at the Queensland Open this weekend at Kurrawa Beach, Broadbeach. There is going to be plenty of action with Australia’s best teams from the AIS and some of the world’s best Beach Volleyball teams will hit the sand in the most prestigious event for beach volleyball in QLD.

Grant Norman paired up with Brisbane player Kieran Ivers and competed very well in the AAA division, the boys played very well together for the first time and made it through to round three before being eliminated by the top seeds.

Scoring Rules

Men’s A Grade
The Toowoomba Titans have claimed the minor premiership for the 2010 Premier Volleyball League title. The Titans were too strong for bottom of the ladder team Redlands Volleyball Club on Friday night at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre as the Titans dominated game play and cruised to a 3-0 victory. For the first time in Titans history Toowoomba has finished top of the ladder after the regular season with a win/loss record of 10-2. With no games next week due to Senior Schools Cup and a bye the following week the men will be training hard to maintain their good form as they take on second ranked Brisbane Volleyball Club in the first round of playoffs. The Titans are 1-1 with BVC and hope to get the win to move straight into the Grand Final.

Men’s Reserve Grade
In other games the Titans Reserve Men were also too strong for the Redlands outfit, winning 3-0. The Titans Reserve men are sitting second on the ladder with one round of games to go.

Women’s Reserve Grade
The Titans Reserve women continued their winning form with a straight sets 3-0 win over third placed Brisbane Volleyball Club. The girls are also sitting on top of the table with a win/loss record of 9-2.
