Business League 2019 – Season Draw

I have found some more refs so A grade teams should be off the hook now. Hopefully all teams will be tolerant towards them as they adjust to the different grades and rules.

Early bird prices have finished now so if you still haven’t paid it is up to $110 until the break and then it will have a late fee attached. All fees should be paid by the Easter break.

Please note there will be a 3 week break as several people have mentioned taking the first week back at school off as it already has a Monday and Thursday (Anzac Day) holiday. This will fit in with our 13 week season too.

Captains/managers can you please ensure your team list online is up to date so payments can be matched to players. You have no insurance until fees are paid and rego forms are completed (if not done online last year).

Cheers
Cheryl

Round 3 Draw

There are a few teams doing duty on different courts – so please check the draw carefully.

I will be working on the draw for the rest of the season this week – so please let me know if you have any teams that are going to be away.

The A Grade teams have been particularly slack at having their team lists complete – all players need to login and make sure their team is listed in MyTeam. These teams should be 90% sorted before the first week – and many of them have no players still. If this doesn’t improve I will be forfeiting teams as I don’t have time to be chasing adults to organise themselves.

Registration

There has been some confusion about the Registration process – before you can fill out your registration details, you need to sign up to the MyTeam page to enter your registration details.

Part of the sign up process is to confirm that your email address belongs to you – it will send a confirmation email to the address you provide.  This helps to protect your privacy, and helps to protect the website from anonymous data being used to flood the system.

If you don’t receive a confirmation email, then this will stop you from being able to login. Use the contact Us button to let us know it didn’t work.  Check your junk/spam folder to see if it was stored there by mistake.

Once you have successfully signed up and logged in – you will be asked to fill in your Registration details – you should see a Registration button similar to the image below.

Once we have your registration details, we don’t need you to re-enter them again every year like we used to have to do with the paper forms. At the moment, you cannot edit your registration details after you have entered them – which is something that will be fixed up soon.

When your email address (the same one as you signed up with) is added to a team list, we know to add your details to the batch of registrations we send to Volleyball QLD.  School teams are handled slightly differently, in that we just need their names and birth dates as the school is their point of contact, so personal contact information such as phone numbers, email addresses and street address are not required as they are for adults.

Some of you will be paying your registration fee through USQ – you are still required to sign up to the MyTeam site so you can update your details to let us know we don’t have to chase you for registration payment (and manage teams etc..)  At the moment, you still have to fill out the registration details form (as I couldn’t skip it easily without breaking other parts just yet), but that will be changed as soon as I get a chance.

I am aware of about 4 or 5 people that have had trouble signing up – please let me know if you are having similar problems as it will help to work out where the problems are – and also create a written record that you couldn’t enter your registration details.

Please get in touch if you have any questions. The Contact Us form at the bottom of the MyTeam page is the best spot to do so.

Round 2 Draw

The draw did get uploaded onto the website on Sunday afternoon – but I just wanted to make a few updates to the website before sending out the email notice.

So I made a few changes to the Fees page in the MyTeam page…
and I added a download button to the Draw page so you can print it…
and then I thought I would fix the Team Edit form up a bit…
and then I had a look at the signup process…
and then I had a look at the time and well, no-one wants to get emails at midnight!
So the email won’t go out until early Monday morning – not too early though!

Well our first night went pretty smoothly – thanks in particular to the Hawks girls that helped out with a duty, it was much appreciated.  We do have a lot of new teams this season, so please be patient while everyone finds their feet.  We are looking for another court manager to help out on Tuesday nights – particularly at the early part of the night – from 4:00pm until 6:40.  Get in touch with me if you are interested in earning a few dollars while helping out.

Round 1 Draw

Wow, that was a tough one.  If you want to know how long this stuff can take – it took over an hour just to put this email together with the web site post and facebook entry… and then my internet dropped out. Apologies for the lateness – the first week is always a nightmare.
We have 51 teams so far this season, with quite a few new teams and a few new organisers as well.  the draw is online – but if anyone finds a difference between the linked pdf file and the online version – please let me know. I have made a few updates to catch some of the errors, but it is still possible for some to sneak through.
Senior Men
We had a number of men looking for a team on Tuesday night – if you aren’t in a team already – then please turn up at 7:50pm on Court 3 – we’ll hopefully have enough for a scratch match and be able to organise a couple of teams from them. Pleas pass the word around as I didn’t get all the email addresses and I’m sure there are a few more out there looking for a game.
Junior Women
We have 32 junior Women’s teams – and literally only enough match slots to fit 28.
This week I have 4 of those teams on a bye, and if I can juggle the teams across divisions, it may be possible that there will be 1 bye for each division (junior women).  We will be having a look at teams this week to see what we can manage – I am leaning towards moving 1 B Grade team to B Reserve, and a B reserve to C Grade.
IMPORTANT
If you have teams that will be away for school camps, or excursions or something like that – then please let me know ASAP!
I make a lot of effort to keep byes and duties as even as possible, and finding out late that teams are away makes this very difficult.
Please also note that we allow players to fill in across teams only to avoid a forfeit – if you need more than one then you need to notify me first. If in doubt, then ask.
If you need draw considerations such as a late start, or you have coaches that are coaching multiple teams and you would like their games to be on at separate times – please ask me via email – I may say that’s fine verbally, but I will not be able to remember it when trying to organise over 50 teams.  Draw considerations will not be guaranteed, so far there haven’t been too many I haven’t been able to deal with.
If you have any questions, then please check the Premier League website – there is the draw, the results, an about page, a rules page and finally the Fees page.
The first Round draw is up there – and if you look on the results page – you will see the divisions and where your team is currently situated.  I say currently as they may change in the next week or to.
Fees
Fees haven’t changed.  Schools will be invoiced unless otherwise arranged. This will happen during the season (hopefully not the end of it like last season). School teams pay the early rate.
Everyone will have to pay the VQ registration fee this season as it starts from the beginning for the year.  If you are registered with Volleyball QLD through USQ or another affiliated club, then please let us know to avoid paying for it twice – email would be best at this stage.
Registration
If you have signed up to the MyTeam website, then you should have already filled out your registration details. I am working on being able to edit these details, but it is a lower priority than other things at the moment.
If you have NOT signed up, then you need to do so as soon as possible to ensure that you are covered by insurance. myteam.tva.org.au
I’m sure I have missed things, so please feel free to ask any questions – after checking the website first!
